Hamburger Pasta

This macro-friendly hamburger pasta makes 6 servings, is freezer friendly and boasts 25g protein, 37g carbs, and 6g fat for 300 calories!

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. Fiber Gourmet elbow macaroni

  • 2 tsp. extra-virgin olive oil

  • 1 cup finely chopped onion

  • 1 Tbsp. garlic

  • 1 lb. 96/4 ground beef (opt. sub lean turkey)

  • 1 tsp. steak seasoning (recommend Kinder’s Buettery Garlic & Herb)

  • 2 (14.5-oz.) cans diced tomatoes

  • 2 Tbsp. tomato paste

  • 1 Tbsp. yellow mustard

  • 1 bag (8 oz.) fat-free shredded cheddar cheese

  • Black pepper

Cooking Instructions

  1. Bring a medium pot of water to a boil. Add the 8 oz of Fiber Gourmet elbow macaroni and cook for 8–10 minutes, or until al dente.

  2. While the pasta cooks, heat a large pan over medium heat. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and add 1 cup finely chopped onion. Sauté until softened. Season generously with garlic powder, black pepper, and (optional) salt. For best flavor, coat the ingredients fully with seasoning rather than measuring lightly—don’t be afraid to be heavy-handed.

  3. In a separate bowl, season the ground beef with steak seasoning until evenly coated and visibly seasoned. Add the beef to the pan with the onions and cook until fully browned.

  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and yellow mustard. Mix well to combine.

  5. Drain the pasta and add it to the pan with the beef mixture. Stir to coat everything evenly. Reduce heat to low.

  6. Add the fat-free shredded cheddar cheese and stir until completely melted, about 2–3 minutes.

  7. Serve warm and enjoy!
